10 Romantic Film Relationships That Definitely Wouldn't Last
8. Ferris And Sloane - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
This has really nothing to do with the relationship shown on screen. Ferris and Sloane seem to really care about each other, they have the same kind of devil-may-care attitude, and it's clear that Sloane is envisioning a future for the two of them. But let's be real. Ferris is a total flake. If he thinks high school is too much of a commitment to handle attending on a regular basis, imagine how he's going to treat a long-term relationship. It's cute when you're 18 and skipping school, less so when you're in your early 20s and hijacking parades to get out of dinner with your girlfriend's parents. Ferris has a certain amount of affection for Sloane, but he sort of seems like the human version of a sprite: none of his emotions run particularly deep or last for very long. Will his relationship with Sloane be able to survive him being out in the real world while she still has one more year left of high school? Even Ferris acknowledges the writing on the wall with that one. And for the record, the relationship between Sloane and Cameron always seemed to be a bit more emotionally fulfilling.
