10 'Rotten' Films That Will Eventually Be Viewed As Classics

1. Kingdom Of Heaven

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 39% Why It'll Be Re-Assessed As A Classic: Those that have only seen the theatrical cut of Kingdom Of Heaven have every right to disregard the film. The director's cut, however, improves so much on the theatrical version that the film critics declared 'rotten' the first time around becomes a masterpiece. It's that good. With 50 minutes of extra footage, confusing storylines clarified and whole subplots reintroduced, you get the last great Ridley Scott film to date. Sure, Orlando Bloom is still no great actor in it, but when you have a cast including Eva Green, Edward Norton, Brendan Gleeson and Liam Neeson surrounding him, it's easier to tolerate. The director's cut, which Ridley Scott prefers (Fox insisted on cuts to the theatrical version that obfuscated the story), will no doubt come to be the standard, accepted version of the film in time, just as Scott's Final Cut of Blade Runner is now considered canon. When that time comes, Kingdom Of Heaven will go down as one of Ridley Scott's greatest achievements. Which other recent 'rotten' movies do you think will go on to become classics?
