10 Sacred Films That Should Never Be Remade

9. Back To The Future

Back To The Future lends itself to a reboot, in some ways. With thirty years now passed since the original, a new version of Robert Zemeckis€™ time-travelling sci-fi flick could leap forward another thirty years and predict what 2045 would look like. However, Michael J. Fox is Marty McFly. Christopher Lloyd is Doc Brown. The Back To The Future movies are synonymous with the year 1985. No one else could inhabit those roles in the same way, and seeing a DeLorean land in real-life 2015 would only serve to highlight how dull and colourless the cinematic landscape has become since the 1980s. A remake would probably take Marty to a gritty dystopia rather than a world where Biff has simply become a bigger bully. No one wants to see that, especially when the original trilogy remains a hugely enjoyable viewing experience. The Back To The Future films told a complete story. If anything, they went even further than they had to by adding the Wild West element in Part III. We don€™t need any more than that. That's just being greedy.
