10 Scariest Mad Scientists In Horror Movies

2. Mason Wren - Alien Resurrection

The Human Centipede First Sequence
20th Century Fox

The Alien franchise is filled with men of science obsessed with controlling the Xenomorphs instead of destroying them. Thankfully, Ellen Ripley sacrificed her life in Alien 3 to kill the very last of these demonic extra-terrestrials.

But 200 years later, Dr Mason Wren successfully cloned the Xenomorphs back to existence. Not only that, he revived Ripley, turning her into an alien/human hybrid. Because the Xenomorphs can only be born after gestating inside a live host, Wren sacrificed countless humans to resurrect the acid-blooded beast.

Even though characters in the franchise like Adam and Burke demonstrated they would sacrifice anyone to secure the Xenomorph, Wren is worse since he brought this abomination back to life at the expense of countless human lives, purely to make money. Even though the clone, Ripley 8, is his life's work, Wren's smug and smarmy manner towards her and his fellow scientists highlights that he doesn't give a damn about anyone save for himself.

Despite the fact he's killed after a Xenomorph impales him through the skull, this fate still feels too good for him considering all the evil he committed.
