10 Scariest Movie Moments (From Non Horror Films)

2. Baby On The Ceiling (Trainspotting)

The perfect anti-drug film, Danny Boyle's Trainspotting shows at great lengths the very worst of heroin addiction. From the audio-visual terror of a bad trip to the filthy living conditions that the worst addicts find themselves in, Boyle's film never shies away from uncomfortable or controversial imagery. But if grimy drug-taking and hallucinations of falling into "the dirtiest toilet in Scotland" weren't quite scary enough for you, then one particular withdrawal-induced nightmare will probably be enough to have you running screaming from the room. Ewan McGreggor's Renton, while already suffering and bed-bound, is haunted by an apparition of a screaming baby, slowly crawling its way towards him on the ceiling. As the baby gets closer Renton's anguish gets louder, until finally the toddler is directly above him, turning its head completely around Exorcist style just to make the scene that little bit creepier. Don't do drugs, kids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgeDh1WCyeM
