10 Scariest Movie Moments (From Non Horror Films)

1. The Diner Scene (Mulholland Drive)

Although we've had one David Lynch film feature on this list so far, audiences already vaguely knew what they were getting themselves into with Fire Walk With Me, so when Bob eventually turned up, it wasn't that much of a surprise. With Mulholland Drive however, Lynch's nightmarish cinemascape is so hauntingly surreal that you get the sense that the whole world could fall apart at any moment. And on many occasions, it actually does. Although dream sequences are par for the course in Lynch's psychedelic noire, one scene in particular is so steeped in atmosphere and suspense that it virtually exudes it from the screen. As two detectives discuss a haunting night-terror that's been following them around for a few days, they slowly realise that they're currently living it out for real. As they move outside to investigate the "presence" in the parking lot that's been following them around, hoping to finally get closure once and for all, they find themselves face to face with the monster they've been so scared of - and it's utterly terrifying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UozhOo0Dt4o Which other terrifying non-horror movie scenes belong on this list?
