10 Scariest Zombie Transformations In Movies
2. The Citizens Of Philadelphia - World War Z
One zombie, yeah, that's bad.
Two zombies, that's even worse.
A whole city full of zombies? Just give up.
Thankfully, Brad Pitt didn't take this advice otherwise we would never have gotten 2013's World War Z. Whilst it didn't quite achieve its goal of taking the zombie genre to new heights, World War Z is still a fun movie with a killer opening scene.
Pitt's character Gerry and his family are stuck in traffic whilst driving through Philadelphia. What's worse than being stuck in traffic? A zombie outbreak! Actually, on second thoughts, traffic is pretty annoying.
It takes a good four minutes before the first zombies actually turn up. Instead, the scene slowly ramps up the tension, first showing helicopters overhead, then people running, then a garbage truck ploughing its way through cars in a desperate bid to escape.
When the monsters do arrive, they are unstoppable. Fast and fearless, these aren't your usual bumbling bodies. They attack and covert everyone who stands in their way, slowly taking over the whole city.
Chaotic, exhilarating, and gut-bustingly terrifying, World War Z starts off with a bang. Just a shame this was pretty much as good as the movie got.
