10 Scary Supercomputers From Movie History

4. Proteus IV - Demon Seed (1977)

Evil Supercomputers - Demon Seed - Proteus IV Demon Seed is one of those films that lets us know even machines have lustful flaws. Based on the novel by Dean Koontz (which helps explain why I've never liked his work), Demon Seed regales us with the story of a computer that falls in lust with Julie Christie, imprisons her, rapes her (after a fashion), impregnates her with its own brand of computer baby seeds, and finally gives birth to once frightening little baby. Now I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to face a computer that has designs on my wife. I can handle a computer that wants to kill me and I can definitely handle a computer that wants to destroy civilization, but messing with my wife is over the line. Watch it all the way through. The ending is creepy.
