10 Scary Supercomputers From Movie History

3. Colossus and Guardian - Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)

Scary Super Computers - Colossus The Forbin Project In a 1970 precursor to the vicious Skynet computer in The Terminator, the film Colossus: The Forbin Project details the disastrous results of Dr. Charles A. Forbin's creation of a supercomputer known as Colossus. Forbin's computer is designed to control all of the defense systems for the United States. Once it is activated, the computer immediately locates a sister computer in the USSR. Together the two supercomputers systematically overcome all resistance as they quickly take control of all mankind. The two sentient computers, using nuclear missile launches and forced executions of those deemed a threat to their existence, promise mankind a millennium of peace but in return humans must ultimately become slaves of the computer system. Not cool. A good, but sadly obscure movie soon to be remade by Universal. Make sure you watch the original before the remake comes out. You won't regret it.
