10 Sci-Fi Movie Crossovers We'd Love To See
5. The Matrix/Equilibrium
The success that The Matrix brought about in the early '00s was incredibly significant not only for the genre but the industry as a whole. Its popularity was unprecedented and thus many other titles attempted to capture the spirit of the film to prioritize on this trend. Many of these copycat movies were lacking in substance, but one that made a decent attempt was that of Equilibrium.
This film took the stylish action from The Matrix series, added their own spin to it, and applied it to a 1984 styled fascist government storyline. Its look was undoubtedly derivative of the Wachowski's movie but added enough to stand on its own.
The worlds don't match up entirely, but the fighting styles of the characters would have an unbelievably thrilling pace that could produce some of the best action scenes you will ever see.
Matrix gave a new feel to its action, with the addition of bullet-time being a significant motif, and Equilibrium has its unique style with the "Gun Kata" firearm play.
Watching these two fighting styles go toe-to-toe would be utterly adrenaline pumping.
