10 Sci-Fi Movie Mistakes You Can’t Unsee
1. Inception - Arthur's Disappearing Headphones
Throughout the visually stunning and thoroughly mind-melting flick that is Inception our heroes are warned when it's time to instigate a 'kick' by a musical cue - the song Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien by Edith Piaf. Therefore, characters are required to wear headphones during each phase of the dream in order to hear the music when it's time to wake up.
However, when the van falls off the bridge in the first level and begins to drop into the river - forcing Joseph Gordon Levitt's Arthur to hover around in zero gravity in the next tier of the dream - we see that very same character wearing headphones one minute and then appearing headset-less soon after.
Then, later in the film, Arthur is spotted wearing the headphones again as the van hits the water, but for a brief moment, it appeared that he'd misplaced this supremely important piece of kit - required to start up the synchronised 'kick' sequence - in his sleep.
There's a lot to follow from start to finish when it comes to this Christopher Nolan masterpiece and fans were clearly more focused on working out the complexities of dream building rather than keeping an eye on whether or not the film's continuity was on point.
