6. Deadpool 2 - X-Men Assemble
In terms of smashing the fourth wall to pieces, few films hold a candle to the Ryan Reynolds-starring Deadpool entries.
Yet, though pausing mid-fight scene to chat to his fans and even spoiling Danny Boyle's 127 Hours film in one particularly gruesome act of trollery was cute, it's Wade Wilson's speech blasting FOX for not gifting them a few of the A-list X-Men in Deadpool 2 that caused the most fuss to our viewing experience... in the most glorious of ways. Oh, and when one of your marquee characters uses a damn time-travelling device, you better believe that falls under sci-fi, folks!
In the midst of this p*ssed off rant, one which also sees Wilson stare down the barrel mid-d*ck joke, Beast, Cyclops, Professor Xavier, Storm, and Quicksilver can all be spotted having a meeting in another of the mansion's rooms before Nicholas Holt's blue furball swiftly and quietly closes the door to avoid being noticed by the Merc with a Mouth.
Fans understandably needed a second to get over this brilliant visual detour and knowing jab at the lack of well-known in-universe mutants on show in Reynolds' flicks, but in truth we're still not entirely. And that's OK.
