10 Sci-Fi Movie Moments That Pissed Off Fans

5. Data Doing A Spock - Star Trek: Nemesis

Terminator Dark Fate
Paramount Pictures

The fourth and final Next Generation feature length film, it's clear to see why studios were a bit hesitant to put their money where their mouths were following the release of Star Trek: Nemesis. Let loose to the public in 2002, the film follows Jean-Luc Picard and the gang in a scuffle against the United Federation of Planets led by a clone of the captain named Shinzon.

A box office and critical failure, much of the criticism for the film has come from the fact it's all basically a rehashing of classic Kirk-era picture, The Wrath of Khan. A renegade captain with a huge armada chasing his vendetta against the Enterprise's captain is bad enough from an originality point of view, but there's one moment in particular involving Picard and Data that really takes things to a whole new level.

Having killed Shinzon on board his ship, the Scimitar, Picard finds himself with no way back onto the Enterprise. Data shows up in true Spock style with a trusty emergency transporter, which he straps onto his captain and watches on as he's left behind.

It's always touching seeing someone sacrifice themselves for the greater good, but there are sure to be countless Star Trek fans scratching their heads and thinking 'I've seen this before...' whenever this scene comes on.
