Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey throws out more questions than it answers throughout, but there's a couple of burning questions that we may never know the answer to, and perhaps that is a good thing.

Throughout the film, we see a black monolith, an imposing structure which defies all logics of time and space. Whilst people have speculated that this structure represents progress or change as it appears in the transitionary moments of the film, a clear answer is never provided by the film. Over 50 years later, we are still none the wiser!

In the closing moments, the film also leaves us with a final memorable image, a "star baby" (yes you did read that correctly), and again as no explanation is offered, this one is left to us to try and figure out!
