10 Sci-Fi Movie Remakes That Need To Happen

Thus far we have discussed films that could generate profound products, and some that could make utterly action-packed thrillers, but ultimately what we would love to see is simply some ridiculous fun. Flash Gordon as a film entirely delivers on that, and a new version that keeps the same spirit but updates the classic look could totally be a huge presence in the film industry.

The movie tells the tale of an American football player and his friends who travel to the planet Mongo in order to fight the evil tyrant known as Ming the Merciless before he destroys Earth. The plot summary instantly brings about a sense of the story's utter absurdity, and ironically the film treats itself with a surprising amount of severity.

It's the kind of narrative and writing that sci-fi fans have to constantly defend as on the surface level it sounds utterly ridiculous, but that is exactly the charm of the film. It is packed with incredibly fun characters that have excellent designs and an updated version that carries these concepts over but improves the look could be brilliant.

Simply put, this film would be an absolute blast, so long as it approached the material with a self-aware classic sci-fi vibe.
