10 Sci-Fi Movie Remakes That Need To Happen

7. Metropolis

Outland 1981
Paramount Pictures

Metropolis is considered one of the greatest films ever made, regardless of its genre. The silent movie was created in 1927 and still gets discussed to this day for the integral movements that it made in the filmmaking industry. Remaking this classic would undoubtedly give the title big shoes to fill, but if it were done right, it could be an unbelievably profound product.

The film focuses on a city that has a drastic divide between the working class and the city planners. But soon the mastermind of this system's son falls in love with a member of the lower class. This woman also happens to be a prophet who predicts the coming of a saviour to mediate the citizen's differences.

Metropolis has a profound outlook not only on class divide but the concept of balance and how to seek it. It truly has something to say and does it with this fantastic expressionistic art-style that even after almost one hundred years still looks utterly breathtaking.

It deserves to be remade so that we can see this powerful tale told during a time when its message needs to be heard. There is very little hope that it would match the quality of the original, but it would at least be something.
