10 Sci-Fi Movie Sequels Better Than The Original
1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The Terminator was widely considered one of the most revolutionary science fiction movies of all time following its 1984 release but that only set the stage for the franchise to reach even greater heights in the 1992 sequel. The most impressive thing about all of that is the fact that, like with Aliens, T2 accomplished these unmatched levels of success by doing something completely different.
The original film was a to-the-point thriller that saw Arnold Schwarzenegger's deadly cyborg hunt down Sarah Connor in a tightly-written story that relied on horror, suspense and the occasional action sequence to round it out.
Terminator 2, however, completely flipped the script, swapping low-budget horror for big-budget blockbuster as it utilised Arnie's cyborg as the unexpected hero of the piece, having him learn from the humans he was designed to protect.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day's status as one of the greatest sci-fi sequels ever made is well-established - thanks in no small part to the fact that it's also largely considered one of the best sequels, action movie and, indeed, films ever made.
