6. T-Rexes Were Actually Very Slow - Jurassic Park

Sorry, Steven Spielberg. This one stung, though at least there's no empirical evidence that ET couldn't possibly exist (yet).

Yes, everyone loves 1993's classic tale of what happens when you underpay IT employees, Jurassic Park (Justice 4 Dennis Nedry).

But the film's primary antagonist (the big killer dinosaur, not Nedry), isn't necessarily as dangerous as they were made out to be onscreen.

You see T-rexes may be big and scary, but one thing they aren’t is quick.

Scientists have estimated a T-rex's top speed at about 25 kilometers per hour, which is a smidge slower than the average human. This means the park’s inhabitants could easily have fled on foot, let alone by vehicle, particularly since an animal of that size would likely be unable to sustain that pace for any distance, whereas humans can comfortably run this quick (and sometimes faster) for over a mile.

Particularly when pursued by a T-rex.
