10 Scrapped Horror Movie Sequels Much Better Than What We Got

8. Batman Vs. Godzilla

Godzilla has fought off many adversaries in his long career. Monsters, aliens, heck he even had a one-sided battle with Bambi! The one person he never fought though was the caped crusader himself, Batman.

And if the stars would have aligned just right, filmdom would’ve experienced this match-up back in the 60s as both Toho (owners of Godzilla) and Greenway Productions (producers of the Batman television show) began collaboration on a film that would have seen the two go head to head.

Intended to release in 1966, Batman vs. Godzilla was to have seen Batman, Robin, and Batgirl fighting a Godzilla that was under the control of Klaus Finster, an evil meteorologist threatening to destroy Japan unless given 20 million dollars worth of gold.

Along the way the Dark Knight and his pals would’ve engaged the monster in battles that included the Batmobile, Batcycle, and Batcopter, before eventually luring him to them with a mating call, knocking him out with explosives and launching the giant lizard into space with a rocket ship.

To say this would’ve been a less than serious entry in the franchise is an understatement, as both the Batman TV show and many of the Godzilla films during this period were pure camp. And while details of why this never got past the concept stage are unknown, it most definitely would've been better than the lackluster entry Godzilla vs. The Sea Monsters which was released to audiences in that year.

Still, that this idea actually existed in the first place is sure to make both Batman and Godzilla fans, smile.
