10 Scrapped Star Wars Movie Scenes Better Than What We Got

4. Kylo Ren Tortures Chewbacca - The Rise Of Skywalker

Although The Rise of Skywalker is certainly one of the weakest entries in the Skywalker Saga, this concluding chapter still had some brilliant scenes, even if they were far and few between.

One of these moments of brilliance could have come from the torture scene between Kylo Ren and Chewbacca after the Wookiee is captured on Pasaana. During the scene, the Supreme Leader would have brutally tormented Chewy, both physically and mentally.

According to Rae Carson, author of the novelisation of The Rise of Skywalker, Kylo was meant to mock Chewbacca about Han Solo's death, as well as go into his mind to see his torment. All Kylo would find, though, was love for Ben Solo, making the scene even more heartbreaking.

However, the scene never made it into the film, with Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo citing that it was probably too dark. In Suotamo's book Roar! - My Life as a Wookiee, the actor described working on the scene as "very intense and very tough" since Adam Driver had "psyched himself to be a real monster through it all".

Instead of this, the heroes board Kylo's ship, immediately rescue Chewie and jet off in the Millennium Falcon, with no lasting consequences for the crew or a presumably traumatised Chewbacca.
