10 Scrapped Video Game Movies We're Still Dying To See

3. Fallout

fallout3_hero The Fallout franchise was, once upon a time, a cult franchise that didn't really have any major mainstream potential...or so we thought. The truth is, Interplay Entertainment tried to get a film adaptation of the original game off the ground in the late 90s, and when that fell apart, it didn't really make waves. However, with the revitalisation of the series thanks to the brilliant Fallout 3, Hollywood has again caught the whiff of cash money, and given how reliably profitable post-apocalyptic movies are, it seems like nothing if not a sure thing. In 2009, Bethesda applied for a Fallout trademark that would encompass "motion picture films about a post-nuclear apocalyptic world", making it clear that the interest was still there on their side, and surely must be on Hollywood's? With Fallout 4 sure to be unveiled soon, this should just drum up more fanfare for a cinematic take on this beautifully-realised wasteland.
