10 Sequels 2013 Just Doesn’t Need

5. The Last Exorcism: Part 2

the last exorcism 2 It pains me to put this one in since the first film was surprisingly enjoyable. If you didn€™t see the original Last Exorcism then here€™s a quick synopsis. A priest and exorcist who has lost faith in his own profession decides to take one job and have it filmed as evidence that exorcism isn€™t real and is all in the heads of the family hiring him. Unfortunately for him, it happens that there really is some messed up demonic stuff going on in this case and things don€™t end so well for our preacher friend. The film took the found footage approach of Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity and used it excellently. It may not have been original but the plot was and that, combined with superb acting, made it worth a watch. The new film is taking the dreaded Blair Witch route and abandoning the found footage aspect all together. The fact that you probably haven€™t heard of Blair Witch 2 says it all really. I wouldn€™t expect much from this sequel nobody asked for. How the audience will get past the ridiculous title is an enigma on its own. They should have just called it The Last Exorcism...Again! At least that would be an honest indication of the kind of film it will likely be.
