For the longest time, the Super Mario Bros adaptation to a film has set audiences' expectations to what they might endure from a video game movie and for good reason - because if Super Mario Mario himself can't knock it out of the park then who else could?

Long before Marvel with their Cinematic Universe trained audiences to wait until the projector had stopped rolling, the plumber's first venture to big screen contained a post-credit stinger that was rather strange.

This didn't feature Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, or Dennis Hopper as their respective characters. What it did include is Japanese Business Man #1 and Japanese Business Man #2 as they approach Iggy and Spike for a video game deal.

The game in question they want to make ends up being titled the Super Koopa Cousins and it isn't clear if this was intended to set up a sequel or not - but the studio must have thought this movie wouldn't fail.

Either that or someone just left it in at the end as a fun little easter egg. The only thing we can be sure of is it perfectly shows just how out of touch the studio was with what Mario meant when producing this movie.
