10 Sequels To Incredible Movies Nobody Asked For
1. The Matrix Sequels
Whilst this might be highly controversial, one can certainly argue that 1999's The Matrix is a film that tells a complete and perfect story which didn't need any elaboration or sequels. The matrix tells the story of Neo, a computer programmer who discovers that he has been living inside a simulated world as the result of a war between humans and machines.
The ending of the piece sees Neo after learning to control the Matrix making a phone call and promising to show the rest of the enslaved humans how to manipulate the fake world. We are left with so much mystery and intrigue at the end as to how the war began, and how many people have escaped. This mystery is spoiled by the feature's two sub par sequels.
Both released in 2003, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions despite having some excellent action and set pieces erode all of the intrigue present in the debut. The sequels also became obsessed with following an over all huge grand story rather than focusing on the journey of one man, Neo.
Audience expectations were at an all time high for these flicks after the performance of the first. This meant that it was almost impossible for them to live up to the hype, and thus damaged the original film along with the franchise as a whole.
