10 Sequels To Incredible Movies Nobody Asked For
4. The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Another entry originally created by Michael Chrichton, The Lost World : Jurassic Park was the sequel to 1993's Jurassic Park. It explored the idea that after the horrific incidents in the first it would be a good idea to open another dinosaur theme park.
1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park sees the return of several of the characters from the first film who are studying the dinosaurs. Unfortunately an evil corporation is also present attempting to steal the dinosaurs to create a new park.
Sadly it faces the same issues as the other sequels on the list. All the shocks and unique ideas in the original only really work once, and lose their impact when repeated for a second time. Upon release The Lost World: Jurassic Park received mixed reviews with many citing it as just a generic monster flick lacking the impact of the first.
Even director Steven Spielberg was unhappy with the final product and its production. He later admitted that he was too confident that it would be a smash hit solely on the reputation of the original.
