10 Shocking (But Believable) Spider-Man: Homecoming Theories
4. There's Going To Be LOTS Of Villains Again (For An Actual Reason)
The Theory
Who cares if two Spider-Man movies have double-stuffed themselves with villains unsuccessfully? Who cares that repeating the past expecting different outcomes is just lunacy? Apparently Homecoming will feature more villains than just the announced (or known about) Vulture, Shocker and The Tinkerer.
As reported by Yibada, but also some other, better places, Spider-Man: Homecoming could still be the set-up for the MCU's version of the Sinister Six. That's obviously because there's loads of villains, and Nightwatch might be the "heroic" or at least anti-heroic figure in there.
Why It's Believable
This is Marvel, so there's definitely a prologue sequence, which means there has to be a villain involved there. That could well be Shocker, but it would be more fitting that it's just some lower level punks (maybe Cletus Kasady?) rather than wasting someone like Shocker, when he could just be a rogue element affiliated with Tinkerer.
It's slightly less likely that Doc Ock or Norma Osborn will appear in major supporting roles as has been suggested elsewhere though. And it wouldn't be entirely out of the realms of possibility for a Sinister Six tease to "help" Sony continue making Spidey universe movies (since they presumably will to take more advantage of the deal).
