3. Kingpin Might Appear
The Theory
The rumour has been around a while, but Screen Geek were among the first to quote a source "close to the production" that:
“Marvel Studios is considering having Vincent D’Onofrio reprise his Wilson Fisk role from Daredevil in Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
He's been a long-time adversary of Spider-Man, and it would be legitimately great to see the pair face off - particularly as they're so wildly different.
Why It's Believable
Okay, so this is something of a cheat: I think Kingpin's presence will be help, because of Spidey's comic book links with the Defenders. I think Marvel would be well served by teasing that Spidey might team up with them again (whether on the big or small screen), and planting seeds to suggest proximity to the characters is a no-brainer.
So we might not get an actual appearance of D'Onofrio's great villain, but he will cameo in some more roundabout way. And if that does set up a team-up, then even better.
