10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Batman V Superman
4. James Gordon Isn't Dead; He's Just In Hiding
One of the rumours surrounding Batman V Superman concerns one James "Jim" Gordon, the police commissioner and long-time friend of Batman played by Gary Oldman in Christopher Nolan's series of films. The speculation with regards to Gordon's character in this new franchise, however, seems to point to the fact that he's dead. That's to say, various crew members associated with Batman V Superman have stated as much. This could be plainly true, of course; Zack Snyder and friends could very well have made a decision to remove the character in order to free up time to feature a bunch of fresh characters (namely his daughter, Barbra Gordon, who actress Jena Malone is rumoured to be playing). But there is one shocking theory currently doing the rounds that purports that Gordon isn't actually dead - he's gone into hiding after a devastating incident of sorts. An incident tied to Batman - or the death of Robin - perhaps? Whilst it might seem like an unnecessary embellishment to have Gordon "in hiding" instead of outright dead, you have to ask yourself whether DC would just kill of such an iconic character at the very start of a new cinematic universe - surely they would have, instead, found a way to preserve Gordon just in case they ever decided to bring the character back? You have to wonder.
