10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Suicide Squad

7. The Joker Actually Spends Most Of The Movie Locked Up In A Cell

Though the marketing materials for Suicide Squad have been somewhat Joker-heavy, given the character's inherent ability to pull in the punters, there's one theory which purports that the Clown Prince won't actually be a major element in the movie at all - he'll actually spend the majority of Suicide Squad locked in a jail cell, away from most of the action. That's to say, the footage that fans have glimpsed thus far is theorised to be mostly of the flashback variety; scenes chronicling Harley Quinn's journey into villainhood - and her associated romance with the Joker and their subsequent dealings against Batman - are set to outline how she came to be a member of the titular group. And though it might seem a tad weird for the Joker to find himself isolated for much of the film, it makes sense: after all, he's not actually a member of the squad - and unless he turns out to be the villain of the film, it's difficult to see where he places in the framework of the narrative unless it's in flashbacks (said theory also proposes he escapes at the end).
