Grease A year after 'Saturday Night Fever' and Grease is the word. The smash-hit film made an even bigger global mega-star out of our John, and it didn't do co-star Olivia Newton-John any harm either. Hey... they both have 'John' in their names. Well, isn't that a treat? The film is now a cultural phenomenon, cementing its place in cinematic history. The love story... the catchy songs... the beautiful hair! Travolta plays the leader of the T-Birds, bad boy but soft-hearted Danny Zuko €“ and it looks as if he's slapped in plenty of grease to keep his quiff looking slicker than an ice rink. Himself and Newton-John's Sandy fall hopelessly in love one summer, and through the use of song and dance, by the end of the film they're together forever and flying away in the Greased Lighting car. Danny's rough and ready leather-clad look is the image ingrained into the minds of a generation, making all the teenage girls go weak at the knees and hyperventilating. Yep, this is the hairstyle that probably required several showers to thoroughly rinse out. I mean seriously, that isn't even moving in a hurricane. This is Travolta in his prime, a 70's classic that will define the man and mock him in his now hairless existence.
