9. Electro Won't Be In The Sinister Six - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
If you thought Jim Carrey's Edward Nigma wasn't socially oblivious enough and severly lacking in the buckteeth department then Jamie Foxx's Max Dillon is the villain for you. Obsessed with Spider-Man and downtrodden at work, Dillon becomes Electro by a method that would make Joel Schumacher blush and vows to do evil things because the plot demands it. While his character is certainly broadly drawn, there is ultimately enough to make the character justify existence; they may be heavily mocked, but those dubstep inspired fight scenes are entertainingly original. So much time is spent on Electro that it's frankly shocking when he's killed in a prelude to the final confrontation. With Sony so keen to set-up The Sinister Six, it was assumed Dillon would go on to be a recurring character; Electro is one of the super-villain team's founding members in the comics. As it turns out neither of the two primary villains of the first two Amazing films (Lizard is still alive, but seemingly forgotten, in Ravencroft Institute) are set to be in the evil line-up, which instead includes already set-up baddies Green Goblin and the Rhino, along with four previously unexplored characters. Oh yay, more origins. It may not be the best potential interpretation of the character, but Foxx's Electro is a gift-wrapped member of the Six. So why was he instead killed off? On The Amazing Spider-Man 2 DVD Webb states "were not exactly sure if all those people are going to be in the Sinister Six or even in the next movie". We can really tell.
