10 Shocking Movie Moments That Made People Leave The Cinema
6. Swiss Army Man (2016)
Cannes may be the place to pitch your brutal, audience-baiting experimental art piece - and walkouts are par for the course; but Sundance, its peppier, younger distant cousin, is usually the place where indie cred and a healthy mix of Weird wins the day.
Not so with Swiss Army Man. The Paul Dano-led castaway story, with Daniel Radcliffe's washed up corpse in tow, threw audiences over the edge when the late Harry Potter began flatulating (and, in case you haven't seen the film, once those gates are open, he doesn't let up for the rest of the feature).
Though cinemagoers were fleeing as soon as the big man first let rip, it was the early 'speedboat' scene (Dano majestically riding a farting Radcliffe across the waves) that did them in good and proper, cleaving the crowd in two like a... well, you get the picture.
Ironic, considering this premiere attracted so many fans that security had to turn them away in their droves.
