10 Shocking Movies That Will Scar You For Life

1. Salò, Or The 120 Days Of Sodom

Martyrs movie

This was renowned director Pier Paolo Pasolini's last film before his murder, and remains and incredibly divisive movie to this day. So what is it about this movie that will leave you scarred by watching it?

Well, courtesy of IMDb, here is the movie's synopsis that acts as a little teaser... 'In World War II Italy, four Facist libertines round up nine adolescent boys and girls and subject them to ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DAYS of physical, mental, and sexual torture.

So compacted within a 117 minute runtime, are 120 days of sickening torture being committed in various forms against victims who are likely to be under the age of 18. Obviously the movie has been banned and heavily edited in many countries since its release, and is not for the faint of heart.

Pasolini maintained that the depiction of the monstrosities in the movie are metaphors for the relationship between powers and their subjects. That may be the case, and his intentions may well have been honest, but Salò is one of the hardest movies you'll ever watch. If you manage to last the full length of the movie, then good luck getting any decent sleep ever again.
