10 Signs Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Is Ripping Off Harry Potter
5. The ‘Second’ War Against The Dark Side
The story of the Harry Potter franchise begins with the world celebrating the end of a long, bloody war. Half of the storytelling from there on, is used to set up the dark side rebuilding itself and an inevitable second war where the chosen hero must finish it once and for all. Star Wars, throughout the course of its trilogies leading up to Rise of Skywalker, has followed a similar direction.
The first war, or rebellion in this case, was fought against Emperor Palpatine and his Sith Empire, with Luke, Leia, Han and the others rising to the occasion and saving the galaxy.
Fast forward to now, the dark forces have since rebuilt their armies, dismantled the new galactic ruling order and forced those on the side of good to put together another armed resistance movement. It remains to be seen if this second war ends similarly to the one started by Voldemort.
