10 Signs Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Is Ripping Off Harry Potter

3. The Mentor’s Sacrifice

The Last Jedi ended with Luke Skywalker finally coming out of his isolation and re-joining (sort of) his family and friends in their hour of need. In the end, he may have been able to buy enough time for the resistance forces and Rey to escape, but it came at the cost of his life in the physical plane. Immediately following the battle, his weary body finally gave way and became one with the force.

His final words will still be echoing in Rey’s ears, as the sacrifice of her mentor ensured the battle would continue and that hope was not yet lost.

When it comes to mentors and the wizarding world, there is only person who comes to anyone’s mind, and he suffered a similar fate to set up the final instalment in Harry’s saga.

At the end of Half Blood Prince, Snape commits the ultimate act of treason, or as it turned out later the greatest double agent move in history, killing Dumbledore and forcing the heroes to escape. It was revealed afterwards the legendary headmaster was already near the end of his life and did what he had to do so that Harry and the others would stand the best chance of ultimately winning the war.

It worked for him, will it work out for Luke as well?
