10 Simple Fixes That Would Have Made Star Wars: The Force Awakens Perfect

6. Explain Where The Lightsaber Came From

“A good question for another time”

Urgh, really? I said it at the time and I’ll say it again, that’s not good enough. They clearly wanted to have the Skywalker’s saber appear in this trilogy, but couldn’t be bothered to explain how it wound up not on Bespin. An alt opening was even going to have Luke’s hand flying through space and have it replace the map as the film's MacGuffin, which makes so little sense even George Lucas would think twice.

What makes all the confusion so irritating is that this wouldn’t even be that hard to explain. Put in a little bit in Rey’s vision where we see it get stuck at the bottom of the chute and picked up by an ugnaught or when Maz says fobs Han off just have her explain it; that case doesn't need to be a mystery box.

This may get addressed in Episode VIII, but, unlike the rest of the vision or an explanation to what Luke was up to, it’s something that should be definitely the movie.
