2. He's Not Blue! - Aladdin

Aladdin Will Smith
Disney

Even though our first look of Will Smith's Genie in the live action Aladdin saw him in a human form, the internet was sent in to a variable meme meltdown when the CGI blue Smith appeared in the first trailer.

Looking like the offspring of Shrek and a Smurf, Smith's face looks so poorly attached to the blue body that it is laughable. Lampooned to no end by the internet en masse, Aladdin needed something special to get everyone back on board.

Luckily, seeing the second trailer, and showing Smith in his Hitch-like role as the Genie less the blue tint, did just that. It's a brilliant scene that shows this film won't rely on the blue Genie past his initial introduction and their reworking of "Friend Like Me", but will instead have a much more recognisable Will Smith mentoring the love-struck hero.

The scene is charming and funny, with Aladdin asking "make me a Prince" and Genie pointing out there is a lot of grey area there, conjuring up a royal man in the distance, proving that Aladdin must be careful with his words. This highlights the Genie's role, and thankfully, shows that he won't be CGI for long.
