10 Slasher Horror Movie Openings That Get Worse The More You Think About It

6. So Many Roofies?! - Sorority Row

Black Christmas 2006 Constance Lenz
Summit Entertainment

A loose remake of 1982's The House on Sorority Row, Stewart Hendler's Sorority Row is a fun popcorn slasher with some inventive kills and a nice sense of intrigue surrounding the whodunit mystery of who the villain of the piece is.

Setting the stage for the carnage of the picture, Sorority Row opens with the accidental death of sorority sister Megan when a prank goes array.

With all present for Megan's death making a pact to never make mention of what really happened on that night, eight months later it becomes abundantly clear that someone knows what had gone on previously. Not just that, but this person starts to off those involved in this cover-up.

Where the aforementioned prank is concerned, Megan's pals gave her ex-boyfriend Garrett some roofies to have sex with her. As Garrett starts to make his move on the near-unconscious Megan, she begins to foam at the mouth. For having previously cheated on Meg, she and her friends concocted a plan to make it appear as if Garrett had killed her with the roofies - and this goes pear-shaped when a panicked Garrett stabs Megan with a tire iron upon being told by her friends that Meg needed the air taken out of her lungs so that they could dispose of the body.

The disturbing part of this, is how often these college kids use roofies to have sex with people. Also, do these roofies get given out by a victim's 'friends'? Considering how these tablets - often referred to as a date-r*pe drug - are used by sexual predators and sex offenders, seeing such pills bandied around in such a relaxed fashion is horrific.
