10 Smartest Decisions In Slasher Horror Movie History
2. Making The Most Of Technology - Halloween: Resurrection
Halloween: Resurrection regularly vies with Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers for the label of the worst offering to date in the Halloween franchise. Despite being a pretty damn awful movie, however, Resurrection does see some impressive smarts on the go from Bianca Kajlich's Sara.
Halloween: Resurrection pulls inspiration from the ushering in of the 'big brother is watching you' era and also clinging on to the found-footage subgenre that had boomed post-The Blair Witch Project. As such, the film opts to have cameras installed in the famed Myers house, and has a bunch of naive young adults spend the night there for a reality webcast.
What could possibly go wrong, eh?
Of course, Michael soon turns up to slash and slay his way through this fame-hungry group, but feisty heroine Sara has the genius idea of using the tech at her fingertips to navigate her way to safety.
Using the hottest technology that 2002 could offer up, Sara messages back and forth with her online crush Deckard. With Deckard watching in on the action, he's able to let Sara know where The Shape is, where to hide, and when to make her break for freedom.
These days, so many people are glued to their phones in an infuriating manner, but to be fair, opting to do just that saved Sara's bacon in Halloween: Resurrection.
Now we just need to somehow erase those memories of Busta Rhymes pulling out kung-fu moves to defeat poor Michael as part of Resurrection's climax...
