10 Snowbound Horror Movies For Christmas

You’ve got to have a “so bad it’s good” movie on a list like this, and while this no-budget dinosaur movie comfortably fits the bill, it’s also something of an anomaly for the Syfy channel – a creature feature whose title doesn’t feature the words ‘Jurassic’, ‘Dino’ or ‘Raptor’.

Otherwise, Ice Road Terror pretty much does what you’d expect. When an explosion at an Alaskan diamond mine frees a prehistoric predator, it’s able to sneak up on two grizzled truckers (with hearts of gold) who for some reason are escorting a sexy lady scientist through the icy wilderness.

In true Jurassic Park style, there’s a chase scene, a close-quarters encounter in a kitchen and you can figure out which characters won’t live to see the end credits. It’s the kind of movie they show at 4pm on The Horror Channel, so if you like dinosaurs, chase scenes and digital effects, you know what to do.
