10 So-Called Comedy Actors Who Haven't Made A Funny Movie In Years

Jim Carrey They say laughter is the best medicine, but try telling that to somebody who just got bitten by a rabid dog and desperately needs to find a hospital. Haha, right? A joke. Okay, so whether or not you thought my little gag there was amusing in any way, shape or form was actually the point of me writing it down: comedy is subjective as hell, and not everybody is going to find jokes about rabid dogs and illnesses amusing, to say the least. Some people prefer jokes that purposely avoid the conventions of jokes entirely. Some people like puns. Others like cat jokes. As a result of all those individual and very incompatible preferences, comedy actors have a tough time when it comes to making movies. Although they can be less broad and more specific in their stand-up acts or on TV, they generally have to make films for the masses in order to make a profit, which often results in flicks of the Godawful kind, because what's worse than something that has been watered down to target the unspecific? Nothing is the answer. Nothing is worse than a comedian sacrificing what makes them unique for a paycheck. Still, none of that matters when you pay actual money for the purposes of being made to laugh. As a result, I've gathered 10 comedy actors who - as of recently - have consistently failed to put the J in joke, perhaps because they can't find an appropriate outlet for their brand of comedy, or because they're too far gone to still be trying to make us laugh in this modern age. All of them should try their hand at a funny movie as soon as possible, or at least consider putting a set of quotation marks around that bit on their passport that reads "comedian."
