10 So-Called Comedy Actors Who Haven't Made A Funny Movie In Years

5. Steve Martin

Steve MartinLast Genuinely Funny Movie: Bowfinger (1999) When you ask a comedian who is younger than Steve Martin who their inspiration was growing up, the answer you'll probably get is "Steve Martin." And though this guy is somebody who just exists to pop out now and again so we can all murmur, "Oh, yeah, Steve Martin," there was a time when he was considered the apex of hilarity. It's safe to say that that time is passed, and given that his last comedy was The Big Year, he'd probably agree. I know it's hard for an aging comedian to find work when their core demographic has aged alongside them and now has better things to do than go and see a Steve Martin movie, but I'm genuinely perplexed as to how this guy hasn't managed to be in anything of worth in nearly a decade. Is there a place for him in this modern era of Superbad-like comedies? Probably not. But did we really need Pink Panther 2, Steve? Do you hate us? Is that it?
