10 Songs That Got Popular After Being Used In Movies
3. Come and Get Your Love - Redbone
It's practically a small miracle that Guardians of the Galaxy's soundtrack worked the way it did. Nothing about the galactic space travel of Star Lord says that there should be '70s AM Gold as the soundtrack, but hearing something like Cherry Bomb by the Runaways and Fooled Around and Fell In Love by Elvin Bishop have remained fixtures of the film and some of the high points of the MCU as a whole. Then again, any Awesome Mix has to start off right, and Come and Get Your Love may have been the best foot forward.
Although Redbone are by no means one of the biggest acts to come out of the '70s, hearing Peter Quill go for it at work makes for a good time the minute the title card comes up. Even though seeing him extract what we now know as an Infinity Stone from its safely guarded hide out, it just reads like another day at the office for him, as he kicks up some of the alien creatures and even sings into one of them during everything.
And it's not like this song was put in just for the hell of it. If you see the first part of the film, you need to have something strong to get over watching a scene of a little kid's mom dying of cancer and then that same kid being sucked into a spaceship before the title card even comes in. Within a few seconds of this song though, Guardians went from one of the biggest tearjerkers in the world to one of the most banging musical moments in any superhero movie.
