10 Songs That Need To Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

The next addition of Awesome Mix.

GOTG Awesome Mix Vol 3
Marvel Music

Guardians of the Galaxy is easily one of the most entertaining series to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From StarLord's quipping to the invisible juggernaut that is Drax, you can never be bored watching this dysfunctional space family interact. While most of the heart comes from these characters, the real charm of the movies comes from the soundtrack.

Now that we have the third installment of the franchise coming further down the line, come to expect more relics from the past finding their way onto StarLord's new Zune. Though he now has the choice between songs from the past few decades, what would be the crown jewels that Pete Quill will choose to put on his latest Awesome Mixtape?

For this list, we'll be taking a look at the forgotten jams from the 70's that could accompany the Guardians' latest trip through the Galaxy. These are the tracks that will give both awesome backing to the epic battles as well as soft and tender moments for when the gang becomes a bit more divided.

Like Quill's eclectic music taste, there'll be sides of rock, funk, and soul to set the tone for demolishing more space atrocities. Grab your Walkman and strap in.

10. Back in the Saddle - Aerosmith

Right at the outset of each film, there is always the one song that engulfs you in the film's playful tone. With the previous film being filled with a glorious 70's sheen on "Come and Get Your Love" and "Mr. Blue Sky," the third installment would be the first time to get some down and dirty rock in the mix.

With (almost) everyone back in the fold after the events of Infinity War and Endgame, "Back In the Saddle" provides the perfect driving rhythm to reintroduce the familiar faces we've known for years. The way in which the riff gallops in and builds up to Steven Tyler's amazing scream is premier badassery at its finest. That intro would work wonders for some white spec appearing in the distance only for it to explode into a vision of the Guardians' ship hurdling its way through the stars.

This could also be a good opportunity of dropping the audience right in the middle of the action like in the previous films, with our heroes demolishing either some gigantic monster or some extra-terrestrial army. Even though most of the other movies have benefited from a more jovial tune to start everything off, this song could really kick down the door and announce "WE'RE BACK!."
