10 Songs That Need To Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
5. Jet - Paul McCartney and Wings
This new addition in the Guardians saga also presents the writers with a separate dilemma: fully incorporating Thor amongst the other characters. With the God of Thunder left to travel with the gang at the end of Endgame, it's almost inevitable that there would be some friction between Quill and Odinson.
Throughout most of their previous interactions, Thor has maintained the mindset of himself being the captain in nearly everything he is involved with. In that respect, "Jet" would be a playful song to go with a scene where Thor tries to fly the ship by himself. With much trepidation from the other characters, Thor's insistence on steering his pod could make for either some playful comedic moments or even some sudden danger the group finds itself in. Regardless of the outcome, the song's playful rhythm could make for some beautiful accompaniment to a journey through the stars.
Does the dilemma have to add an integral part to the story? Not really. With "Jet" coming midway through the film, it would be a good way to incorporate a scene that just engulfs the viewer further into the experience of floating in space much like the visuals in Doctor Strange. Even if it isn't needed, it provides a perfect jaunty counterpart to every serious scene in the film.
