10 Songs That Need To Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

2. Me and Mrs. Jones - Billy Paul

While most of the songs on the previous soundtracks tend to be pretty straightforward, there is always the one song that is actually is a key touchstone in the narrative. From the previous movies, songs like "Hooked on a Feeling" and "Brandy" both played at moments where the emotional tension was at a crucial high point.

Though most of Peter Quill's arsenal of songs consist of mostly pop and rock tunes, this R&B ballad could be a song that helps the movie turn a corner. The soothing sound of Billy Paul's voice offers a more inviting atmosphere to the listener, which would make for an awesome moment of reconciliation between the team.

In that respect, the song could play in multiple scenarios. Even though most of the previous films have a genuine moment where the group talks things out, this song might be one that each character finds connects with them in a unique way. The scene could even have more emotional weight if the villain of our film ends up bringing the song to halt. After a moment where the heroes feel down and out, this could be just the right song to help them learn more about camaraderie and their own unique chemistry together.
