8. Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy)

Who Is She? Marvel has an upcoming event called Spider-Verse, which will feature Spider-Men from all different realities, including a reality in which Gwen Stacy was bitten by a radioactive spider and became Spider-Woman. New art has been shown with Gwen in a black and white Spider-Woman uniform that also has a hood. Her father, Captain Stacy, is around as well, unaware of his daughter€™s double life. According to the creative team, Gwen is struggling with what she wants to do in life and is an artist in a band. Likelihood? Probably not likely. Although Sony definitely has the rights to Gwen Stacy and it would be wonderful to see Emma Stone headlining her own superhero movie after her fabulous portrayal of the character, this seems a bit too much for Sony. A cinematic universe is one thing, but a cinematic multiverse would be a lot more difficult to pull off. However, there was a story in the 70s where after her death, Gwen was cloned by the supervillain called the Jackal, who was obsessed with her. If the Jackal were introduced as an Oscorp scientist who was infatuated with Gwen and uses the spider venom with her DNA to clone her, then that could provide the basis for the character€™s return. But it€™s doubtful Sony would undo the tragic ending of ASM2.
