4. A New Avengers Line-Up

Stan Lee has said that after the first couple of issues of The Avengers comics were published, Marvel received a number of letters asking how Thor could be on Earth when in his own title he was battling Frost Giants in a different realm. What was the solution to this conundrum? Remove everyone except for Captain America, creating a new Avengers team in The Avengers #16. Rumours now suggest that at the end of Age of Ultron there will be an extremely different looking Avengers team. Thor€™s upcoming Ragnarok film is set largely in Asgard, so perhaps he will be going home, and maybe Tony Stark continues to shy away from the Iron Man armour. Marvel have said that they intend to dispense with the origin stories, and with so many obscure characters entering the universe (Captain Marvel, Black Panther and The Inhumans) does that mean that they could first be seen in the climactic scenes of Age of Ultron, or in an end credit scene? The current line up may have become iconic, but this rumour looks more than likely considering the upcoming slate of movies, with Civil War and Ragnarok leaving many of the main characters unable to work together.
