10 Spoilers We Already Know About Marvel's Phase 3
3. Thanos Clicks His Fingers
This is such an iconic comic book panel that Marvel would really struggle to leave it out of the movie. Thanos, having donned the Infinity Gauntlet and possessing universe bending amounts of power, clicks his fingers and instantly kills half of all sentient life in the universe in an attempt to impress Death. The part about impressing the personification of Death will probably be left out, but having seen the power of the Infinity Stones on their own in the Marvel films, you can assume that combined they would have this level of power. The climactic battle of Guardians of the Galaxy showed how powerful the Stones can be, and throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe attempts have been made to keep them apart to prevent this level of destruction. From the end of Avengers, where the Tesseract was sent back to Asgard, to the post-credit scene of Thor: The Dark World where Lady Sif gives the Aether to The Collector, it is clear that the danger of combining these stones is well known. Thanos is coming to Earth, you can be pretty sure of that, and everyone knows that the Infinity Gauntlet exists in this universe as we saw it in the first Thor film. In Guardians, Thanos was intent on collecting the stones, so you can guess what his plans will be. He may not kill half of all life, but at some point expect Thanos to unleash an astonishing level of power just by clicking his fingers.
