9. Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983)
Amazingly this terrifying tale comes from the House of Mouse themselves but just a glance at the poster would have you thinking Hammer House of Horror at least. Two young boys from Illinois on their way home from detention come across a bizarre travelling carnival lead by the mysterious 'Illustrated Man' Mr Dark and discover that what seems like an innocent enough looking place is actually a dark and evil circus of horrors with freaks and monsters galore intent on harvesting the souls of the unsuspecting townsfolk. The film cost a staggering $19 million to produce but only scraped $9 million back which is perhaps a reason this spooky classic is long forgotten by many and certainly not a film Disney are keen to promote. However if you look hard enough you will be able to pick up a copy and it's a real treat for kids who don't believe Disney movies can be utterly terrifying.
